I actually just got one of these, not having a 48volt supply I used a 30volt 500mA from an old scanner with nothing applied to the speed control lines and it started to run. Applied a 5volt source to the speed control and sure enough it started to move more air, tried full 10 volts and I must say it moves more air than 2 120mm panaflows I was using. Noise is far less than the 120's but it is a much lower pitch, kinda like a small furnace blower. I think this blower is a steal at 25$ with intergrated Variable Speed control! Only downside, it is rather large.

P.S. from what i can tell its as positive grounded unit, as everything is rated "-'s".
