Yeah, the MD30 motor doesn't even hum. You just get the turbine whine sound which really drops in volume the moment you put some restriction on the pump (attach it to a block).

When inside my MDF radbox I couldn't tell that the MD30 was on at all. If I turned everything else off in the room and listened, and then turned off the MD30 you could then tell that the room got quieter, but I had trouble distringuishing "why", as the MDF box basically converted the pump's whine into background white noise.
