I use flourinert FC87. or Novec hfe7000 fluid (3M) they boil at 30-34 C. Although you could use acetone (boils at 57C.) as a cheaper solution.

I bring the fluid up to boiling temp using a film heater (OMEGA) until I see a steady stream of vapor coming out the top. This is called out gassing and will provide best performance.

once you have a steady stream of vapor cap it(screw on?) then let it cool down.

In most cases a couple of thimblefulls of fluid is all you need. you have to make allowance for boil off during the outgassing .

you can use cotton or steel wool (000 fine) for a wick , ,my choice these days is copper wool
