They got some atoms to arrange themselves in an 8-Bit qubit and it solved a small scale encryption key in a matter of seconds, something that cannot be done by standard 2-Bit Supercomputers like ASCI White (world most powerful computer). This means that any encryption key can be broken now with a large enough quantum computer

including keys that are 1024 Bits and 2048 Bits (NSA kinda of stuff)
