bling and marketing are not the same thing
Personally i see bling as cheesy ugly 'style' ; gold chains, big rims on crap cars... style that isnt stylish

Bling is 'flashiness' for the sake of it - in product form, form over function, or in worst cases form instead of function. Bling is most certainly a negative word; personally I wouldnt use bling on asethetic qualities of some products, but would on others.

Example - Thermaltake aquarious 3 is certainly bling bling; watercooling for the sake of it; attempts to look good but looks like something out of a childrens action cartoon
