Default Would an evap be a bad idea?

Alright, i've been reading up on evap cooling, and i think it would be the best approach to cooling my system's CPU.

I have an old fish tank, i'm wondering if i used that for the base of the evap (where the bottom of the PVC sits, with the pump) i could use the filter for the tank to keep nasties out...but would it affect temps much? And would it be a generally bad idea? (it would recirculate water in the tank, it's a fish tank filter...not a bottom pad one)

Would this be a good idea?
Also, the return water in the evap is cold, as in the water coming back...but i'm not quite sure how i get those temps to my CPU (i'm sort of forgetting how it works/and i've never seen one...it's just a normal WC loop with the evap tower in place of the rad right?)

BTW, what water block would you suggest for my AthlonXP-M? And what air HSF would be a good buy for when i need to take the evap apart (it's current one sucks, and i'd like one which can hold a decent OC, but maybe not as good as the evap...but better than 1.8GHZ range, all the current one can handle...)

I am looking at Thermaltake units for a few reasons:

A) my AN7 has the mounting holes which the thermaltakes can use, therefore it won't rip the socket off
B) their in the $35-$40 range and it includes fans
C) They aren't bad for cooling
