AMD just plain needs to advertise. The largest advertising they have done in recent times has been ads in computer magazines for ppl who already know about them and a truck rolling around giving free stuff away but no one that isn't planning to be there has any idea what the hell is going on. They need to advertise like Intel then they could do something and maybe get some OEMs working with them. Some big name ones anyway.
