In particular, the vent hole was done (I thought) to prevent pressure buildup in the reservoir as you screwed the cap down. If so, it wouldn't help with the problem I was describing. It would help prevent air being trapped in the reservoir portion that is under the cap (not the portion of the reservoir that is both higher and not under the fill cap).

To be honest ALL versions of the CoolingWorks bay reservoir have been manufactured with the vent since January
