It sounds like the papst flow is better but at the expense of noise?
You can get the D12SM-12s from PCTekOnline for ~$5.50. Maybe that's what you are already referring too.

Simply put, the Nexus/YateLoon isn't an excellent choice on a heatercore. If I was pushing for the absolute quietest setup with much less regard for performance (which may fit you), I would go the Nexus/YL route on the thinnest heatercore I could find i.e. <1". Though true, I personally would go with the Sunon AC route, but very few have gone through the hassle, mainly since most quiet/silent geeks that are watercoolers like the Reseratior. Most hardcore quiet/silent geeks aren't even watercoolers. A XP120 w/ a Nexus/YL at Vmin does them just fine. Then again...they aren't looking for 3GHz out of their A64s lol.

A Nexus/YateLoon in a farly unrestrictive environment, like say a compuer case with cut out fan grills and excellent cable routing, the Nexus/YL would be the better choice over a 4412 hands down. Slap that Nexus/YL on a heatercore, esp. one thicher than 1", and the 4412 becomes the better option.

In a nutshell, every product has its knack. For a Nexus/YL, high restictive enviroments just aren't one of them. Welcome the 4412.

... I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a Yate Loon D14SL/M-12 though... Yate Loon also makes a 38mm version of their D12s. The D12SL/M-12D. That would probably a good heatercore choice. Even with zero experience with the D model, I would venture to say it's the only SPCR or near SPCR quiet spec 38mm DC fan out here.

Not sure where you're located, but this SPCR thread might help.
Who would buy Yate Loons in Europe? (Update, price info)
It's a current thread. Go ahead and post/vote so Aleksi can get a good idea.
