The *old* L1As were great. Some oldschoolers at SPCR use them. But the new 120mm L1As are just shaddows the of the older batches when noise is considered.
As far as I'm concerned, the 4412 puts out a good bit of air, esp. at 12V. Then again, I like to acheive seriously powerful cooling while doing it all very quietly.
