I think the ram runs at 2.8v.. but I didnt look that up.. 2w is still a LOT to disipate from a plastic package that small.. I would not be suprised if it has a 30°c/w thermal resitance or higher - thats gonna make it 90°c.. too hot i think..

edit:datasheet says it runs upto 2.1v.. so your right
