I'm designing a computer that won't even be recognized as a computer and I don't want a piece of furniture humming or blowing air. This is not a practical project, it's just supposed to be fun.
It will be hard to ignore the sound of 8 hard drives humming inside this piece of furniture. The acoustics of the 8 drives will drown out about any fan noise. Perhaps consider the trade off of the extra expenses vs the simplicity of only 2 quit fans blowing through a heater core.
