Not something that is going to be easily fixed at all on existing block, sorry Styyn.

Don't worry when lapping the silver. The base-plate is fairly thick and you're not going to wear it away in a hurry.

I would suggest, first, mounting the block and deciding if you're unhappy. The warpage is still well within what thermal pastes are specified as handling. Joe Camel is just highlighting his hunt for working out the last bit.

I've checked, lapped, checked, dis/reassembled, and checked again one of the spare blocks here and once lapped when re-assembled it remains fairly true. Am unsure how much is due to the O-rings, and how much is perhaps due to subtle warpage in the middle plate due to heat from machining.

Future blocks will also feature bracing posts that hang down from the middle plate and brace the top of the base-plate to address the issue a little more completely.
