Doesn't everyone lap their base and CPU (after removing the IHS)

w/ .6micron grit for a mirror finish (sorry this comes so naturally that I didn't take pics) Takes me about an hour, on my slat of leftover granite countertop and a flat piece of glass, 400/600/1000/2000 / .6u and the final secret - a couple a dabs of AS ceramique and so Alcohol on a tissue for the 'mirror finish'
