The rad before the block thing is wrong. If you actually measure the temp difference between inlet and outlet of anything, even the waterblock or rad, its less than 0.1c. Water doesnt raise a huge amount in temp after it leaves the block then drops a huge amount in temp after it leaves the rad.

As for the res before the pump its a good idea. It helps to make sure the majority of air is bleed from the line before it hits the inlet. Its good to have as little restriction as possible on the inlet. Having the res before the inlet could give you the option to have a large ID tube between the res and pump inlet. But again it doesnt really matter. Ive seen T lines in tons of places. Doesnt matter as long as its easy to route and easy to fill.
