Wing, I wouldn't say that anyone has "taken" any of your ideas. You are a bit late to the party that's all.
But I'd say it's great that you are coming up with these ideas. Don't be discouraged by the fact that almost every good idea has already been thought of, often centuries ago.
Regarding the AC unit as a case cooler, I was discussing this with a refrigeration engineer (seven years ago actually) and his concern with the idea was that the air coming directly out from the evaporator coils is cold (obviously) but also very dry. This is a good thing to a point. Problem is, dry air generates static electricity, not a good thing when so near so much electrostaticly sensitive electronics.
I never tested the concept. If you believe in the idea you should. Actions speak louder than words and if you can generate half decent data from what you come up with it'll be taken more seriously than spouting unverified claims aimed at people who have already studied the issues.
