I understand what you're saying about comparative purposes. What if this setup was to stay the same. No changes made, the non-IHS CPU used, withe the same board, same everything. Only difference would be the heatsink and the ambient temperatures, and of course TIM application (TIM material would stay the same).

Wouldnt that then be sufficient in comparing several different heatsinks with past and present data ?
