Bringing a dead 1000 back to life, cont'

Thanks for the response. The company that was using the 1000 reported inconsistant data access. I came in and could not logon to the 1000, but could access the folders via the workstations on the network. I tried to BU all the data, but the BU failed somewhere in the process. The hard drive on the 1000 was VERY noisy. I was able to copy the folders from the 1000 to the new 1100 and got them going. It took a long time! I hate to throw the 1000 away.
I have seen the posts about going beyond 32GB. I would like to put in a 120GB drive, get it to recognize the 32GB and then config it for the remainder.
Is a standard ATA133 7200 8MB cache Seagate Barracuda drive OK?
