It's sound like the browser is reading cashed data. Reseting the server, sets the IP back to 0.0.0.0 . The older unit need NetBiue to set DHCP. The assist program will allow you to manually set it.

The net configuration settings are stored in flash. The HTML configuration screens can be accessed without any harddrives installed.
