If its connected at 10base, I think you get a throughput of 3mbps. 100 base is in the 35mbps, I think.

I just got finished opening up the 1100 I have (haven't tried a drive upgrade on it yet).
Its very odd...The newer 1100 I have looks like an old Pentium I computer inside; Intel P166 CPU, I belive intel TX chipset, FPRam or maybe EDO, etc.
Inside my older 1000 resembles NOTHING like the 1100. I can't even identify any PC components inside the 1000. Most all the chips are made by "ST". There is no intel chips inside that I immediately saw...no intel CPU, no intel chipset, etc...
Also, the 1000's HD used "Cable Select" on the HD, and the 1100 used "Master/Slave" settings.
Very odd, just thought I'd point that out in case anyone was wondering.
