lol if your thick enough to fit your w/b with the mobo in the case AND the case upright then the shim could rise up. you deserve to lose a cpu if you do that though!

i use a coolerguys mica shim (nonconductor) so it cant short bridges.

i dont see why not to use one of these, i got mine to stop evil hsf unit's with stupidly tight clips from killing my second thunderbird. a coolermaster killed my first one, i put it on right but the pressure was insane, i swear if the clip had snapped as i was mounting it the screwdriver would have gone through the mobo, tray, case wall and about an inch into my desk!
