Your're right about it ain't easy, beren trying to work it out for my system.
And the easy answer is yes when you (I) think it out.
As bobo said serial usually works out better, but to be sure testing both ways will let you know which is best. (2 buckets for the parallel loop, as the storm has high resistance, and thats the block you want with most (maybe almost all) of the flow. You may want to pinch the chipset tube (and permanantly restrict) if the chip block flows too much. ( Bobo will probably end up right)
I'm using a DDmaze4 chip block in series, very low restriction so no worries.
Others have used cut off tall passive northbridge coolers to good effect. The rad fan or a hard drive fan pointed at the chipset will keep things cool enough. An idea anyway.
