From my personal experience and see others at LAN parties, leaks CAN and WILL happen given the chance.

I'm totally sold on external WC'ing setups. An external setup greatly reduces the any damage from leaks.

If your've focused on an external setup, then use colder-quick-disconnets for the tubing between the external unit and computer case. Life is so easy with them.
