Thanks, actually a page or so ago, I mentioned that I was going just this route with the hard drives and, in lieu of building something, will likely grab 4 of these http://www.koolance.com/shop/product...roducts_id=231 as you can mount 2 hard drives to either of these. I haven't fully settled on exactly what materials I'm going to use to isolate the drives--definitely mdf and ???

I was also considering the Samsung Spinpoints until I discovered that you have to disable the quiet mode, or whatever it's called, when used with 3ware cards. I'll probably just stick with my Seagates for now and enjoy the 5 year warranty.

Off topic: bobkoure, I notice you're in the Boston area--so am I. Maybe you'd be interested in seeing/advising on this monstrosity once I actually begin?
