You want a pair of gizmos that look like this
It's called a thread to barb (or thread to hose) adapter - you want a 1/4 NPT thread to 1/4" barb adapter.
Your block is
not 1/2", it is a block with 1/4 NPT female threaded holes in it - with 1/4 NPT to 1/2" ID tubing adapters.
In the states, the best place to get something like this would be at the local hardware store. I've no idea if your local hardware (stockist?) might have something like this.
