Nope, sorry - BSPP is not the same as NPT.
NPT is tapered, BSPP in straight ("P" for parallel sides).
I think, for 1/4 the thread pitch is the same so you can thread one into the other - at least for a bit. There will only be a few threads that are actually tight enough to be watertight, but that might be fine. At a minimum, use teflon tape or teflon paste.
Personally, I'd hold out for NPT but, hey, that's me...
If you already have the block, take it down to the local hardware store. Tell the folks there you're looking for a 1/4 NPT to 1/4" (or 6 or 8 mm) tubing adapter. They probably have something like that in stock - and if not there than at an import auto place. Get some teflon paste while you're at it..

PS: While I'm at it, 'G' is the name as BSPP - so G1/4 is 1/4 BSPP (same deal as the French not wanting to admit that they set their clocks based on the time in Grenwich)
