I noticed those guys pimpin on [H] for about a week before Fixittt caught on, and they even had the balls to say that they didn't know that someone else made a spiral block (oh my!!!).
My first reaction was "Hey, those guys are rippin off Fixittt's patented design", and I really think that they should have approached Fixittt first, but it seemed inevitable that someone would move in on his business sooner or later...
Everyone, everywhere knows that Fixittt was the FIRST to design and produce this block in any numbers, but to be fair (personally, I really admire Fixittt's work), I see more posts about people waiting on Spirals than people talking about how great they like theirs (meaning that there are more people waiting for Spirals than those that already have one).
So now you have a high demand for something, but only one source to get them...demand drives the market right???
I think maybe Fixittt should have really concentrated on mass producing these things so that everyone who wanted one could have one...but since he didn't...I think he could pass the design on to public domain and bask in the fame (Can you say Xijinn and the BONG), or license the design out and make a few bucks.
I don't think it's right that those guys ripped off the design, but if there wasn't a supply issue, they would never had a chance to get in in the first place.
Lastly, don't think this hasn't happened before in waterblock designs...don't know how many of you know the name Ed Lawrence...I think he had a patent too...can you guess what block he designed that got ripped off real fast???
The Tidal Pool Block...History repeating itself
