not exactly stupid, but water is used because it is the best. Better than just about every oil out there (or indeed anything else)

I did a calculation (using a correlation formula) for FC77 (flourinert) some time back and rejected it on the grounds that performance wasn't there.

look around i'm sure there is something.

NB: The whole point of using a dialetric is so you don't need a waterblock just squirt it on the cpu die.
