Default Guardian OS Permission

I hope someone might be able to answer me. I'm using the SNAP Server as a file server in a Windows 2003 Domain using version 3.0.099SP1 of the guardian OS. I know I'm out of date but I don't want to paid Adaptec for support to update to 4.**..

I got this information from the manual:

The GuardianOS processes access permissions differently than does the Windows operating system, allowing administrator's finer granularity in devising a file access strategy. When a user attempts to perform an action on a file and directory, Windows collects all permissions that apply to the user before deciding whether to allow the user to perform the action. The GuardianOS, on the other hand, uses the first applicable permission it finds to decide whether to allow the user to perform the action. The GuardianOS searches for access permissions in the following order:
1. User owner > 2. User > 3. Group owner > 4. Group > 5. Everyone
When a match is found, the search stops and the specified access permission is
applied.

My problem happen when users created folders or files from Windows XP, they get the ownership of the folders or files. Because of that, the Guardian OS give them Full Control over the file. This lead to incorrect folders and files access who mess up everything (Backup doesn't work, others users cannot access the folder or files, etc).

Did anyone found a way to fix this problem? Thank you.
