You have a v2 2000 which uses a single DIMM's chip. PC 100 will work, the spec is actually PC66 is all that is required.

The 2000v2 has a battery, think is a std CR2032, will need to check when you open it up.

Actually you are needing to upgrade the OS, The firmware covers the bios hardware, which has only been one release for the v1 2000.
