Default problems with o-rings

i am making a block and planning to use o-ring instead of just glue everything together. Anyway, i ran into few problems. First, i am using stock cord, which mean i have to cut it into the size i need and "glue" them. From what i know, there is some kind of tool which weld them together. but it cant afford something like that. is there any other way to do this? Second, how do you guys make the goove for the o-ring(other than CNC)? the one that i am trying to make is much like a rectangle. 90 degree turn is probably a really bad idea. Do you guys have any suggestion on how to make those corners? thanks in advance
