the other thing i was thinking of was cutting a port in the side of the case, using some thermal compound and sticking some stupidly large heatsinks onto it.
Also, if i change the IDE cable to 80 core and stick another two drives on (as slaves) will it see it do you think?
not sure the power supply would cope though.

I believe that it won't see the other two drives, however even if it could the power supply wouldn't take the load, and you would be destroying the beauty that is a snap server: compact, network attatched storage. No one wants to see a Frankenstein snap server in their basement
