Default Re: 4100 OS upgrade help!!

I have 4 X 60gb drives. I set it up for one big 4 disk RAID 5 set. At some point later, I was thinking about going with 120GB drives. What are the minimum specs for an IDE drive for the 4100? I figure getting a high performance drive may not make sense with the network as the bus.

After thinking more about the OS upgrade issue, I realize I would be paying $200 just to have the integrated AD ability. I refuse to give Adaptec money for this. I will just create local accounts.

Does anyone know of a way to have the AD server mount the Snap share and then share it back out using another set of credentials? Does that make sense?

If I did that, I could use the AD security and the 4100 would just allow the server to connect to the shares. If this works, then I don't think the OS upgrade would be completely necessary.

Adaptec sucks.
