LOl, i don't think that switching to G1/4" tube connectors would have brought any benefits. sometimes i really don't underatsn robotech.
4x 1/8" is definitely enough.
The problem is not whats going on in the plexi part, the problem is the baseplate.
Its just way too thick and channels are much too deep an borad. get this thing more restrictive and it will performa lot batter. Something like the radius in the middle would be good ore something like my block K5 has (see my avatar).

this is a primtitve lowflowcooler from a company called rrcooler which doesn#t exist anymore. the performance was ok for a chipset, but their second cooler sucked even more in performance terms and was neglible bette rin flow. ok for a nb, but that hints exactly that this is not a good way to go:
I wonder why this cerberus even outperformed a maze3, it could have easily been worse than that with this aircoolerlike baseplatedesign.
I guess the plexi inlets and 4x outlets aren't that bad, thats why the cooler outperformed a maze3. Adding a little restriction to the main channel with a kind of big jet and a finer structure and maybe a milled outlet channel to connect all four outlets would definitely help performance to a level of other current offerings like asetek, dangerden etc.
