i guess his old cooler was on air, so changing for the old block is probably not an option.

can you still send the reserator back to the shop and get your money back?
the rad and pump isn't very good either, so if you change the block, why not by another kit from the first?

a cheap block which definitely has 3-lug prong for socketA mounting would be the nexxosxp light or normal nexxoyXP which is widespread available in many countrys. it may not be the best block around but it is a good value and definitely better than the zalman one. since blocks with a socketA mounting without using the holes are getting rare these days there are probably not many other options.
