No NET, may indicate that the OS is not loaded. Does the LED's on the router show a connection? When you copied the OS from you original HD, did you forget to the "k" in "dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/hdb bs=1024k count=25"?

If the drive is not clean you need to do a Quick 0.
