Its odd my Bios ID it as a a 701N or 2000, when I registered it at adaptec they ID the the server number as being a 705N ,which is odd, I ordered 4 500gig Seagate HDs so I can test whether or not it will see all of them. I have tried contacting adaptec for the OS upgrades but because my unit was a Dell OEM they will not even sell me the Software OS, their argument is that they have ended support of these devices. so I am in a quandry on where to go for that. But I will keep looking, where would I find the controller chip info? I would gladly provide it if I know where to look. The 240 gigs rebuilt into a nice raid one volume. so it adresses 48bit well enough. next test is to upgrade the cables and add two more drives.
