Well it's not that simple.

I upgraded to version 4 (from 3) and all was OK on the version 2 2000.

I opened it up and replaced the battery, put in new WD drives (160s) and the power and link lights stay on steady, the net light flashes, but no disk light. I can't find the 2000 either in my DHCP status on the router or in Assist.

I tried putting the original 40 gig drives back but the story is the same. I tried with no drives, nada.

I can't reset the server either, the lights stay on.

The CPU fan works, as does the power fan. The drives start running and the indicator lights come on for a few seconds.

Any thoughts on where to go from here?
