While I am sure the software and networking gurus might have a different opinion (and may feel free to correct me)......

The SNAP Server is basically 3 things, 1) a file server, 2) a web server, and 3) an FTP server. But, in short terms, it is an NAS device (Networked Attached Storage).

You can use it to back up or host your files/data, that is what it is made for. But the software to do so must be on your client computers for the most part.
