Version 2.2 OS requires that you use Assist to upgrade the OS. I also think you must use a latency OS (Win98) with Assist for it to talk properly to the Snap.

I would recommend upgrading to v3.4 before going to v4. If your 1000 only has 32 meg I may not even go to v 4. But it will run on most.
