The price of the copper bar for a maze2 is like $20 alone, then factor in the cost of the cnc machine, the cost of running it, someone to run the machine, etc.
Trust me, DDen don't make too much profit out of their products. I talk to them all a lot about blocks, and such, trust me they aren't making a huge deal of money.
The swiftech block looks to be a bit simpler to me because of the smaller amount of copper, and it's largely open design. But then you have the anodising costs as someone pointed out, and again I can't see them making too much money
