Re: Alternate OS for Snap 4x00
Well to continue on this thought, I would just love to have a way how to set this(guardian 4400) up with some other OS as I just got one, no drives, no disks, and no software to go along with it.
All I know is that when we(co-workers, before I came on staff) used it before it worked. And now were looking for a way to get it working. Getting a new licence is not an option, so Installing some other OS on it would be great.
But there is another problem, no way to tell what I'm doing, I spent a good time today trying to read up on the 4400's and didn't find out much, it seems like you are able to swap out the card thats already in the box with a vga one(but I don't know where to get one), and your able to plug in a mouse and keyboard(easy enough). But there still is another problem, no cd drive. I guess there might be a way to do it over the eithernet, or something, but thats where I'm at a complete loss.
Does anyone know of anywhere that has how to install anything other than Guardian OS, and not just at some point someone did?
If anyone has anything more up to date on how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated.
oh and also, how would one connect using the serial port(other than just the cord)?
