You left one out: I'm cheap. Much more satisfying to run a $100 CPU at the $300 level than pay to play at the upper end. And that's why I haven't tried another CPU or mobo to see if one of my parts is a dud. When I'm ready to spend more money, it'll be on a new socket entirely.
