Default Cant get into a 12000

System seems to boot up, and gets an IP which I can ping...
going to the admin page (http://<snapserver>/config/) it asks for user/password, which I put in, but then I get nothing... I can FTP into the box and see "SHARE3" and "SHARE4". I can change to share4 (no access to share3), but when I go into "
rescued" or "video" I get:
ftp> cd rescued
Connection closed by remote host.
(after sitting for about 30 seconds or so).

trying to get to the normal web page, it just sits there.. the snap server sends an ACK, and tcp keepalive packets, but no actual HTTP content.

any ideas? I believe its running snap os, and not guardian... I'd really like this thing to run something that supports rsync and symbolic links... Linux? BSD? (as I believe the snap os is BSD based).

I've also reset to factory defaults via the front panel menus, and have also tried to boot it without mounting volumes... to no avail...
