You don't need assist since you have access. Apparently you did not do a reset to factory.

The problem with trying to resync is I do not know which drive is good. Normally on a raid1 you can still access the data with a drive down. Since you can not makes me wonder if 1 drive was replaced and the resync was not ran. Leaving you with a broken raid and a single drive, in which the raid drive now has a problem.

I would swap drive positions and see if you gain access to your data. If not, you have 2 options. One is run SpinRite on your HD's under maintance mode. The other which is probably the best choice if you must have the data is send them to a recovery service $$$$. SpinRite has fixed some probems for users, it is a option. To use it you must remove the drive to a PC and boot with the SpinRite CD.

Now if these drives are Maxtor's I would look at replacing them with WD or Seagates. Maxtors have the highest failure rate in the industrie.
