That's the info I was looking for.
The ftp server being proftdp, the config file is /etc/proftpd.conf, and the message file is welcome.msg, which doesn't exist -- that explains the chatty message -- it's using the default.
Logged in as admin, I still have 'su' to be able to change the file. However, when I change the proftpd.conf file, the changes don't show when I connect using ftp. If I reboot the Snapserver, the changes are undone; it's like I never edited the file. Any ideas?
