Snap 410 not releasing connections
We recently purchaced a Snap 410, 2Tb server for my company to replace a 4500 that had become too small and a bit unreliable. I since replaced the drives on the 4500 and with you guys helping me out a bit, I got it back up and running with the full capacity of the drives. With the new drives, my troubles with the old server went away. THANKS!!
The 410 now has a problem of not releasing the connections in the Active Users List. I have contacted Addaptec about this but they seem to be a bit lost. I could not log in to and access the files on the system because there were too many active users logged into the system. They seemed to be the FTP users that had accessed our system then logged off but the server never cleared the connection. I asked Addaptec how I could make these connections time out but they didn't seem to know how to answer my question. I told them I had to reboot the server to clear the list and then we where able to access our files. They thought that was a wonderfull idea and I would probably have to continue that sollution. They told me that I didn't have enough memory (RAM). There's not a whole lot of differance between our 4500 and the 410. I upgraded the OS to 4.4 on the 4500 so the OS is the same and I'm not having this problem on the 4500.
Is there something that I can do or something that I can set to make inactive users time out and go away?
Thanks for your help.
John
