Hi! Our old 4100 tends to overheat easily. I replaced the fan about a year ago, but it didn't last. We don't use it much so it hasn't been an issue, but I am taking it out of mothballs to repurpose it as a backup box. Even with the cover off, it runs for a while and then the processor fan sputters to a stop. If I give it a short blast of air, it kicks up again, but this is not a good long-term solution! (I have already had to move the head to another of the power leads.) Do you guys suppose I can just replace the whole heatsink with another 1U heatsink and fan combo (like
this one)? And should it blow or suck air relative to the heatsink? It's such tight quarters in the case, that either way doesn't seem very effective...
And while we're on the subject, is it possible to replace the processor itself? Just curious.
