Hi Guys,
You've helped me with my Snap 4500 in the past that now runs GREAT, but now I have an issue with my new 410 that I need some help with. This, I'm sure, is not an every day issue for most people, but for those of us with more complicated networks, it may come up more often. Some background, we are trying to get a Metro-Ethernet working in my office. I installed a couple of Cisco routers to break up the broadcast zones between the two offices connected to the Metro-Ethernet. Long story short, when I send an information request to the server, instead of sending the responce back through the Cisco router, it sends it to the default gateway and out to the internet were the packet get dropped because there undeliverable. I spent an hour on the phone with the guy at the Metro-Ethernet company and we found a solution to this. I needed to add a line in the routing table of my laptop to tell it that if a request comes in from the network on theother end of the metro-ethernet, that it is to be sent back out to the cisco router and not the default gateway. It is now working for my laptop but I need to set that up in my Snap Server so that I can access it properly from my town office. I haven't been able to find anything in the Snap tobe able to do this. Is there a way to access the routing table on a Snap and add a static route as I was able to do in my laptop? I know this was long winded, but I thank you much for your help.
