Not a stupid question at all. Yes, adding more airflow (never mind how it's done for now) will increase cooling. But the answer to how much air flow and how much cooling is "It depends".

The attached chart for an older ThermoChill series seems to indicate that water flow rate, air flow rate and heat dissipation are related, as one would expect!

Note the conclusion that can be drawn from the graph:
At low water flow rates increased air flow has a minimal effect.
A high water flow rates increased air flow has a large effect.
Increacing the air flow beyond a certain limit yields diminishing returns at any water flow rate.

So, which part of the curve for your rad are you on now?
